New World Improves Open World PvP With Influence V2 With Tomorrow's Expansion Launch
Players will have a reason to defend their territories in open-world PvP.
The old system of pushing faction influence missions in New World will be gone tomorrow with the launch of the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion. In its place comes Influence V2, a new system that looks to add more reasons to take part in the MMORPG's open-world PvP without sacrificing the fun of wars.
Instead of pushing faction missions to gain influence in a territory at any time, there will now be timed windows in which players will be fighting over control points located in each zone. One zone will be active at a time. Players will have 45 minutes to fight over these control points and push influence for their faction. In the end, the faction with the most influence from controlling these points wins the race. Rewards caches will be given out at the end of the influence race, plus players will be earning Azoth Salt to spend on the PvP rewards track.
All of this is covered in this week's episode of New World: Forged in Aeternum, which you can watch in full below. The Rise of the Angry Earth expansion launches tomorrow, October 3rd, at 9 AM PDT.
