We Aren't On The PTR Anymore: New World Drops Brimstone Sands Update On PC
This is the game’s biggest update since launch.
Today PC players can take their first steps into New World’s next zone, Brimstone Sands. This new region is unlike anything else in the game, featuring the remnants of an ancient Egyptian Kingdom destroyed in a war with the Ancients thousands of years ago. There, players will find new enemies to fight and new things to explore.
The update also includes a revamped starting experience in the form of a redesign of the first 25 levels, so anyone just starting out or looking to start fresh will have a different experience. The quest flow through zones has been optimized, new quest dynamics have been introduced.
Also introduced in the update is the Ennead Expedition. Players will fact the Corrupted Legion and explore Ancient Runs filled with Anubian Guardians in order to solve puzzles that will grant them new powers. A new weapon has been introduced as well, the Greatsword. The two-handed weapon allows players to make use of different stances and weapon skill trees in order to defeat their enemies.
