In the world of MMORPGs, it's pretty common to see the occasional "Double XP Weekend" here and there. It's a nice way to give active players a chance to grind out some levels or hit up their alts, a welcome way to come back to a game you stopped playing for a bit, and a potential way to get a few new players to jump in for the weekend and maybe stick around after that.

As New World: Aeternum's new season kicks off, the game has decided to one-up things by not only holding a full Double XP week, but they'll actually hold 5 of them. It basically boils down to one per month through the beginning of May, even if the last one technically starts at the end of April. If you're looking to catch up on anything or want learn a new skill, now's the time. Experience gains are across the board, so from weapon skills, to fishing, to gathering, it's all doubled.

However, each of the weeks have specific experience that's doubled, so check the calendar for the ones you need. This choice kind of makes it unlikely the event will attract totally new players, but hey, existing players get a bonus to cap skills.

  • January 28 – February 3: Double Gathering XP
  • February 25 – March 3: Double Refining XP
  • March 18 – March 24: Double Weapon XP
  • April 15 – April 21: Double Weapon XP
  • April 29 – May 5: Double Refining XP Bonus

There's a few tips from the New World team on how to get the most out of these specialized weeks if you're planning to participate. Most of it boils down to planning ahead and gathering all the resources you'll need ahead of time.
