New World: Aeternum Will Dish Out Platform Specific Red, Blue, Or Green Skins In A 3 Weeks Long Launch Event
Make sure you play on standard cross play servers, though.
Alright, fine, Amazon Games. You got me today and spaced things out so that you get two posts in one day.
Clever girl.
In addition to dropping a new launch trailer this morning, one that seemed to contain pistols, New World: Aeternum is now ready to talk about some new rewards. When the MMORPG launches on October 15th, so will a 3 weeks long event centered around the game's "Arrive, Survive, Thrive" mantra. However, your rewards will be specific to the platform you play on.
Well, I should say the color of the rewards will be platform specific. The weapon skins and items you will receive are all the same, but if you're playing on Xbox the rewards will be green, PlayStation 5 players get blue, and PC players get red.
To earn these rewards, which include weapon skins, decorations, and transmog tokens, you'll need to complete certain challenges each week. Week one is the "Arrive" week and all the challenges you need to complete will be revealed on launch day, October 15th. Expect these to be things like "Complete an Expedition" and other new player-type things. Week two and week three required achievements will be revealed on October 22nd and October 29th, respectively.
The challenges are completed by "Team" (platform) though, so you'll want to encourage other players on your platform to contribute to the "Team's" progress.
In addition, other skins will be available from content creator giveaways, with rewards for that changing each week, too. More details on who you should follow are coming soon, but codes from content creators will be specific to the creator's "Team." Make sure you're following the creators on your platform of choice before you get a code you can't use. Although, you can trade these skins so, if worst comes to worst, find a friend on another platform if needed.
This "Trials of Aeternum" event is specific to new standard servers only. Legacy servers, the ones PC players will find their current characters on, are not eligible to participate and neither are the launch servers that are specific to one console. If you want to earn these, roll on a new standard server that supports cross play with all platforms.
