New World: Aeternum Headed To Open Beta On All Platforms September 13th Through The 16th
This test will feature crossplay between PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Look, New World: Aeternumn could really use a win for the team right about now. With the console launch of the "totally not an MMO anymore" MMORPG still about 2 months away and current PC players feeling a bit spurned by a content drought that just got longer, maybe an open beta can cast the title in a good light for a change.
Open beta doors will open on September 13th at Noon EST and close on September 16th at the same time. Platform doesn't matter for this test as PC and console players will be able to join and all platforms will have cross-play enabled. You can pre-load the beta client starting on September 11th.
If you take part in the open beta, you'll receive Day 1 rewards when the title officially launches on October 15th. On the line are titles and cosmetics (pictured above) but you have to reach level 25 on a character to get all of the rewards. The open beta will be capped at level 30. On an important note, make sure you play the beta on the platform you actually want these rewards on as they will be locked to your beta platform. Sorry, you can't play beta on PlayStation 5 and try to get these rewards in October on your PC account.
If you've never played New World before and don't know exactly what to expect in this test, the team has posted a full blog detailing all of the content you'll be able to take part in given the beta's level 30 cap. If you pre-order Aeternum on consoles or you own (or buy) the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion on PC prior to launch, you'll also net yourself an Azoth Stalker Wolf mount.
