New Tiered Loot-Exclusive Content Called "Mythic Variants" Coming To League Of Legends
They're special versions of existing Legendary skins with added elements unique to the champion.
Players be demanding that good-good prestigious content, and they'll get it.
Riot Games is introducing a new concept to League of Legends called "Mythic Variants," tiered loot-exclusive content. According to the development team, this approach aims to provide exclusive items that cater to players who seek ultra-rare and special content. Unlike Prestige skins, which have become more accessible over time, Mythic Variants will offer a way to own special versions of existing Legendary skins with added elements unique to the champion.
The first Mythic Variant skin introduced is "Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin." This skin is an updated version of the original Dark Cosmic Jhin skin, featuring reimagined elements and a new splash art, icon, and border. Players can obtain Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin by participating in the milestone system. Opening 29 Cosmic 2023 Capsules guarantees the reward in the 30th capsule for that milestone rank.
These capsules are available for purchase during specific patches. Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin can also be obtained as a 1% drop from the capsules that progress the track. The skin will eventually be added to the MOBA's reroll pool, but it won't be directly purchasable in the shop initially.
