New Season Starts As Phantasy Star Online 2 Update Adds New Content And A New Weapon Upgrade
Just in case you missed it this morning, Phantasy Star Online 2's latest scheduled maintenance has come and gone, leaving behind new content for players to enjoy. Included in the new content is the next chapter of Episode 4 content, a new time attack quest, and the new Union Boosters weapon upgrade.
Three new campaigns have been added: Speak in Group Chat, Clear Story Quests, and Battle it Out in the Battle Arena. Information on these was provided earlier this week. In addition, a new urgent quest schedule is in place.
As for the Union Boosters and the related Weapon Exchange, there's enough going on there to warrant a full post from the PSO2 team explaining how to navagate the new content. Of course, the general rundown is that players now have a way to obtain more powerful weapons -- particularly MEL, RNG, or TEC weapons. The new weapons will be shiny too.
To obtain these new weapons, you'll need to make use of the Union Weapon Exchange Shop. You'll have to make a choice on what kind of weapon you need and if you play a character with multiple classes this may be a daunting choice. You'll also have to provide Zig with the materials needed to craft the various union weapons -- which, in this case are union boosters and an upgraded Ray series weapon. Union boosters can only be obtained from a specific solo Urgent Quest, and it won't be easy. The good news is the PSO2 team provided a short guide on the system to help players get things under way.
