New Path of Exile item allows players to "Pay to Win"
There's certainly not enough winning happening in Path of Exile, at least not the sort that first requires players to pay up before deemed a true "winner". So after a recent visit to GDC where Grinding Gear Games had their eyes opened to all the wonders of Pay-to-Win monitezation, the studio took note of the lack of P2W in Path of Exile and and set about rectifying this glaring anomaly in the Free-to-Play space.
The result was a new consumable item sold in stacks which upon use celebrates your character "winning" in Path of Exile with a barrage of opulent fireworks and an announcement to all those around you of just how much you are winning at PoE.
Of course, as hardcore veterans of Free-to-Play gaming know, the best way to get the most bang for your buck with a P2W game is to nickel and dime your players. Again GGG has taken note of this tactic and has made sure to charge 15 cents per win stack, thus truly nickel and diming their player base.
These special items can only be purchased today with more information available on the official site here.
