New Game Activity And Mutators Come To WH40K: Darktide In Today's Free Nightmares & Visions Update
The update is free if you own the game, but if not, it's on sale on Steam.
When Psykers are involved, everything may not be exactly what it seems. That's exactly the case in Warhammer 40K Darktide's new game activity. If you own the looter-shooter already, today's "Nightmares and Visions" update is free for you. If you've been thinking about buying it, the game's update also comes with a sale on Steam. You can grab the game at 50% off. Sadly, there aren't many discounts on the console versions right now.
Psykers are playing mind tricks in the new "Mortis Trials" activity. When you enter the Psyker's visions, you will not only fight off waves of enemies (which is expected), but you'll also choose from random buffs and abilities throughout the trial. That means that each run is different from the run before. You'll have to battle through 12 waves to succeed with objective-based waves taking place in every third wave.
If you've been a bit miffed at the end-game Havoc activity, that's getting a revamp, too. You'll be seeing new challenges, new mutators, a rotating campaign, and progression has been made a bit cleaner with an overhaul to the existing rank system.
You Ogryn out there will have a bit of work to do getting used to a new talent rework and some movement changes.
To celebrate the update, make sure you check out the new "A Day at the Theatre" event. This event is only running for a limited time.
The full patch notes also detail included bug fixes and general balance changes.

Yeah...I bet there's other reasons, too.

Invite multiplayer and an optimized progression system also arrive.

The class's kit seems to be well-suited to both PvP and PvE content.

As you might guess from the developer, this will be a cozy MMO.
