New Footage Of Redfall Provides Deep Dive Into Gameplay And Confirms May 2nd Release Date
An in-depth look that gives up just enough to get players hyped.
Redfall, the upcoming vampire shooter by Arkane Studios, appeared during the Xbox and Bethesda Developer_Direct stream earlier today. Viewers got to see ten minutes of gameplay footage of Redfall, and we got a confirmation that the game will launch officially on May 2nd and be priced on PC and Xbox starting at $70 (and launch on Game Pass).
The gameplay footage showed players fighting enemies that could shift through the floor to avoid damage, vampires charging at them, and more. The environments revealed were consistent with the eerie aesthetic Redfall has going on as the player-character panned over blood-stained walls and walked down dark hallways with a flashlight on their gun.
But there were also plenty of moments of gunplay and the use of combat robots to distract or eliminate enemies. The video also showed vampire nests that change every time players step inside. The only way to get rid of them is to destroy the heart, and there appear to be more nests to smash up across Redfall's island.
A handful of bosses shown had unique abilities that made fights a bit more interesting, and viewers caught glimpses of weapon and character skill customization, alongside learning vampire stakes could be attached to weapons. You can view the entire video below!

I mean...who plays SWTOR for the stories, right? (/sigh)
I'm very hopeful for this F2P Madden alternative, but I hate how the early access is monetized already.
