New EVE Online Expansion, "Havoc," And Multiplayer FPS EVE Vanguard Unveiled During EVE Fanfest 2023
EVE Vanguard is a multiplayer FPS module that uses Unreal Engine 5.
CCP Games will soon wreak havoc on EVE Online (in a good way though).
During EVE Fanfest 2023, the developers unveiled new content and features for the sci-fi- MMO. The highlight of the announcement is the upcoming expansion called "Havoc," set to launch on November 14. In this expansion, Capsuleers will have the opportunity to align with notorious pirate factions like the Angel Cartel and Guristas.
Their mission is to spread chaos across New Eden by executing insurgencies, disrupting the power struggle among major empires. This expansion introduces a new system called Zarzakh, controlled by a mysterious entity known as the Deathless. Players must choose between defending tradition or wreaking havoc in this warzone, with rewards and access to faction-aligned storefronts depending on their allegiances. Additionally, there are enhancements to Corporation Projects, new ships, customization options, and quality-of-life updates.
Furthermore, CCP Games made a surprise announcement about "EVE Vanguard," a multiplayer FPS module for the game developed using Unreal Engine 5. In this dynamic shooter, players take on the role of the Vanguard, a generation of war clones fighting for survival and consciousness freedom on the planets of New Eden. They engage in hazardous contracts, complete missions, and engage in tactical combat with rival Vanguard squads and hostile forces.
EVE Vanguard will be connected to EVE Online, allowing players to impact the MMO through Frontline Corruption. Over time, it will receive new gameplay, content, and interoperability with the game, creating a deeper, immersive experience. EVE Online Omega players will get the first hands-on experience with EVE Vanguard in December, with a publicly playable mass test called "First Strike."
