New Dangers Await Valheim Players In The Frozen Caves Of The "Mountain" Update
Update includes new event, controller support, and pause feature for single-player.
Valheim's Frost Caves are now open for business -- assuming that your business is risking your live to slay fantastic beasts and get out alive with their treasure. If it's not, why are you playing Valheim in the first place?
The Mountain update went live yesterday and essentially takes the place of the "Cult of the Wolf" update that was originally promised in the game's roadmap when it launched into early access a year ago. In addition to the new area to explore, the update also includes a new event "involving one of the new creatures – how will you defend yourself and your base from these fiends?" the announcement post asks.
Other features added with this update include controller support, the ability to pause in single-player maps, and various optimization settings.
As for what's coming in the future, you can check out last month's Fireside Chat video with the CEO and lead developer, embedded below, or just gaze upon this "concept art of an enemy that you’ll meet in Mistlands," which is sure to strike fear into the heart of even the most seasoned Norse warrior. Beware!
