Leaks Were True: New Character Coming To SMITE: Mage Assassin Maman Brigitte
She excels in the jungle with her damage-over-time abilities.
The leaks were true!
SMITE has officially confirmed the new character: Maman Brigitte. She’s a Voodoo deity known as the Protector of the Dead. Maman Brigitte is associated with guiding souls from the land of the living to the afterlife and is fiercely protective of graveyards, especially those of women.
While her husband, Baron Samedi, uses charm to dissuade interference with his duties, she takes a more forceful approach, ensuring the sanctity of the deceased is upheld. Maman Brigitte has a fiery and boisterous personality and is often depicted as a black woman with red hair, though there are alternative descriptions of her as white-skinned with red hair.
In terms of gameplay in the MOBA, she is a Magical Assassin who excels in the jungle. Her abilities focus on damage over time effects rather than burst damage. Maman Brigitte's gameplay also features several unique mechanics, such as a fuel-like system, a new projectile shape, and a dash with a twist on a fan-favorite mechanic. Her playstyle revolves around rapidly activating her passive ability, which significantly contributes to her overall damage output.
As the Protector of the Dead, she has no tolerance for those messing with the affairs of the deceased.
