New Call Of Duty: Warzone Map Urzikstan, Which Drops Today, Features 100 Players Instead Of The Usual 150
The setting itself is smaller than previous iterations though.
It’s like Syria meets Afghanistan.
Activision has unveiled Warzone's new map, Urzikstan, set to launch as part of Modern Warfare 3's Season 1 update today. While previous maps featured 150-player support, the new map will feature a reduced player count of 100.
Raven Software, the actual developer behind the FPS battle royale, said the decision was made to prioritize an optimal and enjoyable experience for players — considering factors like map size, circle timings, match time, and various gameplay mechanics. The new map is 20% smaller than Al Mazrah and introduces 11 major points of interest.
This announcement in particular outlines key metrics considered in achieving a balanced gameplay experience, according to the developers, emphasizing fair infiltration and looting, engaging mid-game encounters, and an intense end-game climax. Sentiment from the community will be monitored following release and potential adjustments could be made over time, Raven Software assured.
