New Apex Legends Character Revealed: August “Ballistic" Brinkman, Shows Off Upcoming Season
In a fresh “Stories from the Outlands" video, Respawn Entertainment showed the former celebrity champion of the Thunderdome Games.
Another Apex Legend is entering the battlefield.
Yesterday, Respawn Entertainment dropped another “Stories from the Outlands” video for Apex Legends called “Encore.” In it, the developer revealed a new character for its FPS battle royale: August Brinkman, but you can just call him “Ballistic.”
He is a former celebrity champion of the Thunderdome Games, the Kings Canyon bloodsport that occurred before the Apex Games. Except when a competitor died, they did not respawn. That’s why Ballistic retired, and now a forgotten hermit.
However, his son Nathaniel has just qualified for the Apex Games, so he makes a deal with Syndicate leader and Silva Pharmaceuticals CEO Torres Silva, an “old friend.” If Ballista joins the Apex Games — which will surely drive up television ratings — then Silva must kick Nathaniel out. And so he commits to the promise, and Season 17 (“Arsenal”) begins.
The Arsenal launch trailer will debut tomorrow, April 26 at 11 AM EDT, and the update goes live May 9. In the meantime, the fresh Veiled Collection Event starts today, April 25 at 1 PM EDT. Check out more details here.
