Mario Kart meets Fortnite?!
Stampede: Racing Royale, a 60-player kart racer developed by Sumo Leamington and published by Secret Mode, kicks off its first Steam Playtest from July 27 to 31. During the playtest, players can race on eight different tracks and a battle arena. There’s also over 50 customization options available, and more courses as well as customization choices are planned for the Early Access release later in 2023.
Player feedback from the playtest will shape the game's future as it prepares for the Early Access launch, although progress and unlocks will not carry over to future playtests or Early Access.
With 60 other participants competing simultaneously, players can engage in classic circuit racing called Stampede Races or enter arena-based battles, Stampede Battles, to score the most points using a variety of power-ups. The game offers a wide range of vehicles and customization options, allowing players to unlock new karts, customize their appearance with paints and stickers, and dress their characters in unique attire. Additionally, there will be various seasons, events, and challenges down the road.
