Neverwinter will soon be alive with song, as bards are coming to Cryptic Studios' MMORPG. IGN has the exclusive, with a class reveal video and brief description on its site; as of press time, it hasn't been revealed on the Neverwinter site itself.

The bard is the first new class to come to Neverwinter since the oathbound paladin in 2015, and it includes what you'd expect from the iconic class. The bard is described as a "stylish fighter who uses the power of song to enhance their allies and defeat their enemies" that can "dance around the battlefield filling the ears of their allies with rejuvenating carols and defensive minuets."

We'll have more on the full reveal of the bard when it becomes available. (UPDATE: The class will be available on the Neverwinter Preview server tomorrow, June 3.) In the meantime, let us know what you think about a new class coming to Neverwinter after six years, and, if you're still playing, whether you'll consider rolling up a bard. Or, just tell us your favorite bard stories, whether from video or tabletop gaming!

2 little 2 late. We should have had at least 4 new classes by now.

They should have done this two years ago, the game might still be worth playing if they had continued updating it, instead of letting it languish. Or, if they had never banned the majority of their playerbase for exploitation of a glitch they had known about for 6 months but decided not to fix and instead used for entrapment. Either way.
