Talent From Battlefield And Call Of Duty Reveal F2P Shooter Marvel Rivals, Think Overwatch, But With Marvel
Play as your favorite Marvel heroes (or villains).
Another game set in the Marvel universe is on the way – this one for fans of shooters. Marvel Rivals is a third-person, 6v6 team shooter currently under development at NetEase. Gather your friends and build a team of some of the most iconic characters in the Marvel universe and head to the battlefield.
Marvel Rivals is free-to-play and currently being developed for PC. The team at NetEase boasts talent from well-known shooters like Call of Duty and Battlefield. The game they’re building features characters from all across the Marvel universe – and the Multiverse. Players will fight on “ever-changing battlefields” with destructible environments.
To come out on top, players will need to learn how to combine the unique abilities of the characters they are playing, making use of hero synergy to use Team-Up Skills. This includes things like Rocket Raccoon hopping on Groot’s back to fight, or Hulk using Gamma Energy to charge Iron Man’s armor.
Marvel Rivals also features a storyline centered on a battle between Doctor Doom and his counterpart from the year 2099. Their conflict has caused universes to collide in the Timestream Entanglement, resulting in the creation of new worlds and problems. It’s up to the Heroes and Villains to defeat both Dooms before one of them wins.
