National Labor Relations Board Pursues Complaints Filed Against Activision Blizzard By The CWA
The NLRB found merit in charges of illegal surveillance and threats to remove internal channels.
Another day, another problem to add to Activision Blizzard’s very long list of problems. We’re sure they’re used to it by now. In this case, the National Labor Relations Board has agreed to go forward with a complaint made against the company by the Communications Workers of America union. Previously, the union made three charges against Activision Blizzard. The NLRB decided to move forward with two of them.
The first complaint accuses the company of using illegal surveillance during the July 2022 walkout in protest of the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade. The second was Activision Blizzard threatening to block employees from internal channels where they talked about work-related things, like wages and working conditions.
The third charge, which was dropped, claimed that ABK cut off access to chat during an all-hands meeting. Blizzard claimed that the chat function was removed because certain employees were using it to malign other employees, particularly the Diablo Immortal team.
