Multiplayer Samurai Game Hanako: Honor & Blade Launches On Steam
The game was created to honor the team lead’s late mother after her battle with cancer.
After 14 years in development, +Mpact Games’ multiplayer melee game Hanako: Honor & Blade is now available to players on Steam. As a game set in Feudal Japan where up to 24 players can engage in combat as samurais, Hanako is unusual in that it was created to honor Team Lead Matt Canei’s late mother and is intended to represent the destruction caused by cancer – not just to the one who has it but to their loved ones as well.
While playing, players will go on a symbolic campaign across feudal Japan, one that represents the personal trials involved in the life and death of family and friends. This story is told across multiple levels and game modes in which players fight for either peace or chaos.
As far as gameplay goes, players can choose from one of four warrior classes: swordsman, spearman, archer, or ninja. Each class has its own collection of attacks, abilities, and combos. Players will also find multiple offensive stances dictated by their movement and skills available to them.
Hanako: Honor & Blade is buy-to-play, but not all that expensive. It’s generally $15, and right now a special 40% discount is available. So, if you pick it up before September 21, you can get it for $9. That is, unless you want to pick up the Founder’s Pack bundle, which includes all purchasable items into the future.
