More Bosses, Loot, Towers, And Other Changes Coming In Path Of Exile 2 This Week...And Some That'll Have To Wait
Uniques are being buffed so they feel more impactful, even at lower levels.
Path of Exile 2 will be launching its first major patch later this week and, while we still have to wait on the full patch notes, Game Director Johnathan Rogers hosted a new video taking us through the major updates coming to the APRG. The update focuses on "quick fixes," things the team was able to implement or address within a faster timeline. Rogers acknowledges that this is by far not a complete list of improvements compared to all the feedback the team has been gathering in early access, but it does represent the things that could be actioned right away. Other items that require the creation of a new league or economy will have to wait a bit longer.
Probably the largest adjustments are reserved for more "endgame" content. Endgame maps themselves all received a balance pass to increase the loot spawns and mythical monsters, and decrease monster problem issues. This should make the maps more rewarding to play. Sick of running the single tower that's available in PoE2 yet? No worries, four more towers are being added. More maps will be spawning bosses, too. You can even add bosses to your maps courtesy of a new tablet.
Citadels will now spawn closer to the center of the Atlas and are visible even through the fog of war from greater distances. You'll also get the chance to take on the Arbiter of Ash up to 6 times (fewer on higher difficulty.) This should help players actually learn the boss fight. Other Pinnacle content will get respawns later. Remember, you still have to complete the fight with your chosen build. If you leave the fight, you have to start again.
A slew of smaller, but appreciated, changes also come to Atlas zooming, effect visual duration, collision detection in certain environments, and map load time.
Uniques have been adjusted to make them more interesting to use at lower levels when you may find them.
Finally, console players are getting some love specific to them with the addition of item filters. Right now, PC players get to take advantage of item filters but console players cannot do the same. This patch will enable the same item filtering system the original Path of Exile gave console players. You'll subscribe on the site, the original PoE site for now just to get the feature launched, and you can filter from there. This feature will be improved and moved to the Path of Exile 2 site at a future date.
