Monsters & Memories is set to enter Early Access in January 2026, following Alpha and Beta Testing expected around July/August 2025.

The Early Access phase aims to expand the MMORPG's world and content. Entry is only available through subscriptions at $15 per month. There is no box price, zero in-game microtransactions, and free content updates included. Servers launched during Early Access will not be reset or wiped. Servers will be introduced as needed and, upon completing the Early Access Development phase, fresh servers with all content will be launched.

Developer Niche Worlds Cult says the decision to opt for Early Access instead of fully completing the game stems from the need to support the volunteer team and to scale up art and environment production. The focus is on proving core systems and gameplay during the Proof of Concept phase and then expanding content during Early Access. Delays are possible if aspects like gameplay, performance, or stability aren't satisfactory.

In the indie MMORPG, which is often referred to as the spiritual successor to Everquest, players can level up to 50 and explore the continent of Aêthoril through zones like Night Harbor and Tomb of the Last Wyrmsbane. There’s quests, factions, mounts, PvP, guilds, crafting, items, and abilities for them to enjoy as well. Future updates aim to expand the game world, introduce additional races and content, and implement fresh server options to accommodate players who prefer to start in a more developed environment.

For now though, check out the February and March update to see how Monsters & Memories is progressing.
