Modify And Pilot Huge Trampler Mechs In Upcoming PvPvE Extraction Shooter "SAND"
Ok, the name could maybe use some work, but the Tramplers look pretty damn cool!
This could be a neat one. Today, at tinyBuild's Connect Showcase, indie developers Hologryph and TowerHaus revealed their upcoming extraction-shooter SAND. Yes, the game takes place in a boring desert on the planet Sophie. It used to have oceans, but now it's a dried up husk. That doesn't mean there isn't value on the planet, though.
There's a ton of riches in the abandoned settlements on the planet, but only the brave (and well hydrated) among you can snag those riches.
While the setting may not be all that inspired and the genre may be over saturated, there is something pretty cool looking in SAND that may be worth checking out when the game releases its first playtest. You can sign up for that test now.
The most interesting feature in the trailer are the "Tramplers." These large, lumbering vehicles are made from whatever materials one can find in an abandoned desert open world. It's all very "steam-punky" and looks awesome. Players will be able to customize these vehicles, their power, armor, weapons, and more. You don't have to stay on your vehicle or the vehicles you and your friends team up to create, though. You can hop off and engage in some close quarters combat.
The new trailer shows off some combat, both on Tramplers and off of them, and shows you some of the dangers on the planet; players and otherwise. Check it out below.
