To Help Out New Players A Bit, Mist Legacy Adds New Dungeon To In-Game Tutorial
The idea is to show players what they can do without them spending hours in game.
This week, Virtys, developers of the old-school MMO Mist Legacy, added a new feature to the game. Intended to help players learn the game as quickly as possible, the new “Introduction Adventure” is a dungeon that has been added to the in-game tutorial.
The basic idea behind this addition is to quickly show players who have never encountered the game before the kinds of things they could be doing. In creating the introductory dungeon, the dev team added new features to the game engine. These include the ability to place objects on a map based on the scenario and conditions on a map encounter that require players to do specific quests before combat, among other things. Basically, it’s the kind of stuff you’d expect from a dungeon, but also necessary to get players to the more difficult portions of the game.
Mist Legacy is free-to-play via Steam. Currently, it’s still in Early Access, but not one of those EA’s you have to pay for, so if you’d like to check it out, hit up the Steam Page.
