Mintrocket Closes Wakerunners Before It Even Made It To Early Access
One demo was all it took for them to decide this wasn’t it.
Some of you may have tried out Mintrocket’s team action game Wakerunners during Steam Next Fest. You may have even been hoping to give it another go once it launched. Unfortunately, that’s not going to be happening. Today, the game will be removed from Steam and the developer will move on.
According to a post on the game’s Steam page – which we assume will also disappear when the store page is pulled – the development team decided during the demo that they didn’t meet their goals and that “significant improvements were needed to achieve the level of quality and enjoyment [they] envisioned”. Because of this, they “decided to permanently close the project rather than continue development”.
The post thanks the players for their feedback and support. It also goes on to state: “Looking ahead, we are excited to explore new opportunities to deliver even more engaging and entertaining experiences. We look forward to reconnecting with you in the future.”
