Midnight Murder Club Early Access Starts March 13th And One Edition Lets 5 Friends Play For No Additional Cost
A new Wildcards system starts really messing with how you play in the dark.
If you haven't been part of Midnight Murder Club's testing so far but are interested in the co-op "hunt your friends in the dark" game, early access is incoming. Slated to drop on March 13th, early access for Midnight Murder Club will include the addition of a new mode called "Wildcards." The mode stems from the team changing the rules on the fly in their own sessions. Friends in chat would just shout out a new rule and all players would abide. This found its way into the game as a series of cards players can earn for winning (and losing!) matches. These modifiers can be chosen at the start of a new match.
Modifiers include things like giving players big heads making headshot targeting easier, light trails behind players, or turning into a bear trap when you die. Each player in a match can trigger a Wildcard at the start and earn more cards upon a match's completion.
In what could be a risky move, Velan Studios will be offering an edition of the game called the "Midnight Murder Club Guest Pass Edition." Games like this rely 100% on getting your friends to play, but convincing your friends to buy the game isn't always easy. This package allows you to invite 5 friends to play the game with no additional fees or restrictions. As the team puts it in their blog post, "If one person buys the game, they can invite up to five Guest Pass Edition players to play together for no additional cost in public or private matches, in all current game modes, as much as you want."
We don't have cost details for the edition yet.
