Mecha BREAK Teases Future Out-Of-Mech Combat While Showing Off New Pilot Hangar Features
Kind of silly to have a pilot shooting range if they can't do that in game, right?
If you're a fan of mech combat games, you've likely been keeping a bit of an eye on Amazing Seasun Games' upcoming Mecha BREAK. We've been covering their tests this year ahead of a 2025 release on PC and consoles, and each time I do I get a little more interested in the upcoming title.
The team's been making the rounds at festivals and game jams and their next stop will be New York Comic Con, which started yesterday. In a new video, Mecha BREAK hits up CEO Kris Kwok and attempts to get a few more details of some of the more "side" features in development. In the process, the team spilled the beans on some possible future gameplay options. Now these aren't guaranteed yet and, if they do get added to Mecha BREAK, it likely would be after launch, but it's certainly interesting.
Players of mech-based games love customization, and prior tests did show off quite a bit of customizing, particularly with paint jobs. Other customization options coming soon are decals, patterns, accents, and hydro-coatings.
Here's the big "tease" for ya: While showing off the explorable space station that your pilot can chill in, the team gave examples of some of the things you can do there outside of your mech. Touring the cafeteria, your quarters, and more, the team then mentioned a shooting range.
Now that's an odd thing to be there, right? Mecha BREAK is all about mech combat and currently your pilot cannot jump out of their mech and engage others on foot, so why have a shooting range to practice with out-of-mech weapons? They did it to tease a new feature being added to the game: a pilot combat mode. This likely will be a more "far-off" feature, but I'm a fan.
