McDonald’s And Their Apple Pie Is Coming To Genshin Impact In A New Promotional Crossover
Yes, there are new glider wings, too.
Video games and processed foods that you don’t have to cook yourself, it’s a classic pairing. Why not combine them in some sort of promotional crossover? Say… Genshin Impact and McDonald’s. Order some McDonald’s for lunch, get it in Genshin-themed packages, and – if you ordered via the app – get some in-game goodies as well.
At select McDonald’s throughout the US, fans of the action RPG will receive their apple pies in packaging with one of two characters on them. The first is the captain of The Crux and general bad-ass, Beidou. The other is a permanent guest on The Crux, the runaway heir to one of Inazuma’s foremost sword-making families, Kaedehara Kazuha.
Purchasing the apple pie via the McDonald’s app will earn players in-game items as well. These include "Golden Apple Pastries” and the related recipe (Sensing a theme here?) and Primogems.
In addition to the rewards for the apple pie purchases, players have the opportunity to get other in-game goodies. They just need to purchase the “Genshin Impact Deluxe McCrispy Meal” – the contents of which are the Deluxe McCrispy, fries, an apple pie, and a drink. Purchasing the meal earns players with the “Wings of Delacicies” Wind Glider and a new namecard. Again, these items will need to be purchased via the app.
The promotion begins on September 17. The press release doesn’t indicate an end date and, unfortunately, the rules page seems to be down currently, so if you want those details, you might want to just try checking the page later.
