When early access literally kicked off in November for Maximum Football, the sports game offered a F2P alternative to Madden and was certainly a welcome one. However, initial reviews on Steam and other platforms (yes, it's available on Xbox) weren't all that great. To this day, Maximum Entertainment's game sits at a "Mixed" review on the digital distribution platform.

Season 2 dropped into the game today and, in addition to new content, it takes the opportunity to address a few consistent points of feedback from players. Sadly, each team isn't getting its own stadium yet, but we are all collectively gaining a new stadium that's very "Vice City" like...in fact, the early access update is called "Vice Blitz."

The new Seaside Park stadium is very sunny, adds some palm trees, and is very reminiscent of stadiums used by some Southeastern college teams. While it isn't a feature limited to Season 2, invite multiplayer now allows you to take to the gridiron with and against friends in a much easier fashion.

Speaking of fashion (lol), a new season in F2P games usually means new cosmetics and those are being added, too. While the season pass has the usual free and premium tracks full of cosmetics, the Season 2 change here is how you progress through the pass. Players felt progression was way too slow. The slow progression led to a "less than great" feeling when it took forever to actually earn rewards. That's been sped up this season, so let the team know if it's to your liking now.

The full patch notes detail changes and improvements made to Dynasty mode, animation and audio improvements, new defensive hot route options, and alternate jersey selection updates for you detail-oriented coaches out there.
