Marvel Snap Friendly Battle Mode

The fast-paced, chaotic online matches in Marvel Snap have created quite an explosive following since its October 18 launch on PC and mobile devices. Climbing the digital ladder is a compelling pull for such a snappy card game, but it missed having the ability to play against friends. That is, until Second Dinner confirmed it would come sometime this year.

A spokesperson for Second Dinner told The Washington Post that a friend-centric "battle mode" would release "this calendar year." With November and December as the remaining months until 2023, the addition is right around the corner. The mode presents a new way for players to compete.

Instead of one-off games from ranked mode, battle mode will pit two players against each other across multiple games until one player's pool of ten health points becomes depleted. Snapping will still be available, but changes to where players can snap for health points instead of rank. Betting it all on the line can lead to some crucial damage to a health pool. With the way snapping works here, it will ensure that battle mode remains free of artificial rank increases that would get abused through snap farming between friends.

Second Dinner is excited to have players compete against their friends in the upcoming battle mode. With how soon they hinted at the release, we'll be sure to cover its launch when that drops!
