MapleStory Worlds, The Content-Creation Platform, Is Headed To The Americas
A soft launch has been announced for October.
We haven’t talked about MapleStory Worlds here much. In fact, the last time it came up was the only time it came up, back in April. Of course, at the time, we weren’t sure if it would be making its way West and it had just officially launched in Korea.
Today, we know that the MapleStory-based content-creation platform is going to launch in North and South America, with a soft launch slated to take place on October 16. Before anyone asks about other regions, the game will be launching elsewhere, but all we know right now is that it will happen “in the future”.
MapleStory Worlds combines worldbuilding tools with over 30 million assets from the popular anime MMORPG MapleStory, offering creators a way to build their own worlds using drag-and-drop tools and Lua scripting. Creators can even design items and sell them to players. Meanwhile, players will have a collection of worlds capable of supporting a large number of people to explore. The system allows players to customize their avatar using hundreds of options and set custom items from their favorite creators.
The platform will be available on PC, iOS, and Android. Players can sign up for the MapleStory Worlds newsletter and enter for a chance to win an iPad or Wacom tablet on the game’s site.
