NEXON has big plans for its free-to-play side-scrolling MMO MapleStory. The company announced not just one update, but a series of updates planned for the game beginning November 29 and rolling through into the new year.
There will be four updates in all, beginning with Nova: Liberation of Cadena. This update will introduce a new playable character, Cadena, as well as unlock the 5th job skills for all job categories. It'll also bring with it a new daily dungeon.
The next update will arrive December 14, adding the Winter Bard story and a few new events. Then, another character will arrive on December 20 with the Nova: Brilliance of Illium update.
Finally, a new area will be introduced in the last update arriving on January 3, 2018. The Morass area will be found by exploring the Arcane River. Players will be forced to deal with the swamp of Memory which takes on the appearance of the memories of those who enter it.
