MapleStory Fest Drops New Trailers For "The Dark Ride" Global Content In An Animation Style Long-Time Maplers Will Love
That wasn't all that was surprising at MapleStory Fest, though.
Maplers got more than a few surprises this past weekend at MapleStory Fest. With a few surprise appearances from Hanbyeol Oh, Head of Western Development for MapleStory, and Kwanghyun Lim, Development Lead of Western MapleStory (better known as Inkwell and Dr. Lim) the festival was in full swing when the team dropped big news in the global version of the MMO.
Hitting MapleStory Global on November 20th, "The Dark Ride" will unleash what the team calls the "greatest threat" to Maple World. The update will introduce 6 new boss fights as Kazax has returned and brought a few new baddies with them.
Also on tap is a new "Item Burning" system that reddit has already started speculating on.
What I like the most, actually, is the footage shown. Sure, details were a bit light (although there was a roadmap shown), but both trailers (embedded below) contain an animation style that should make long-time Maplers very happy. It looks great. Now we'll have to see how the sprite animations in the released content look.
So you can catch up, here's both trailers and the entire main presentation!
