Pax Dei Test Results

Recently, Mainframe hosted the second Alpha test for the MMORPG Pax Dei. This one was bigger than the one before as they’d invited over 100,000 players to test the game. While a bit of a workout for the Live Ops team, it seems like the test went particularly well and the developers got the information they wanted. They were able to see things in action and received plenty of feedback from players.

Now that it’s all over, the devs have shared what insights they gained during the test, and what they’ll be working on as a result. The post covers changes that will be made to combat, PvP, crafting, building, and more.

The changes being made to combat are geared toward making it the action-oriented combat system they’re shooting for, as well as ensuring that it's balanced between player skill and RPG progression. As you’d expect from any MMORPG, gear plays a big role in this.

On the crafting front, one goal is to make things less confusing. They’re also looking at balancing and improving resource distribution.

Those who read through the post in whole will find that the individual areas have a lot being done to address player feedback.

One thing of note is that the devs have fixed the inventory issue that was causing them to desync when players moved between game areas. It turns out it was caused by a memory leak.

In the future, players can look forward to information on the game’s economy and social features. In the meantime, Mainframe sent out an infographic with some fun details about the test period.
