Magic: Legends Drops 17-Minute Video Of Beastcaller Class Gameplay
Those hoping for more information on Cryptic's upcoming M:TG-based ARPG Magic: Legends are in luck today -- especially if they're interested in the Beastcaller Class. The developer shared a fairly sizeable video showing off the class's gameplay with IGN earlier today, and it seems like everything one might expect from a class with with "Beast" in the name.
Since it's a gameplay video, it does offer a look at some of the game's narrative, voice acting, and all that -- although nothing seems too spoiler-ific. Most of the video is focused on combat out in the world -- where we get to see the Beastcaller's abilities. This includes one that appears to summon a herd of... something... to attack his foes. He also summons phantom-like beasts on occasion and is always accompanied by a pet that aids in battle. The rest of his abilities seem to be tied to his ax -- spinning attacks and broad swings as well as others.
If you have the time -- or just want to slack at work for a little bit -- the video can be viewed below.
Also of note for those attending PAX East: If you were worried that Magic: Legends might not be there, they are. As of today -- and for the entire weekend -- you'll be able to find them at the Perfect World booth (booth 17075 on the show floor). A demo will be available for players to check out while they're there.

So, this is one of those may or may not actually be free-to-play situations, but just in case the game does go the F2P route, we figured we'd let you know about this anyway.

I'm very hopeful for this F2P Madden alternative, but I hate how the early access is monetized already.
Still no date on an actual release or arrival on Steam, though.
It’s an early version, so things may change.
Pre-orders are already up with a little discount for PS Plus subscribers.
