Love Is A Pay-To-Play Battlefield In New 1v1 Dating Sim “Pick Me Pick Me”
Fight with a friend over the AI love of your lives.
What if you could take your BBF fight over the hot boy or girl from high school and do it all over again? Only, this time the hot kid is an AI cartoon character, and you’re spending Tokens to interact with them. Then you’re playing Optillusion Games’ upcoming 1v1 dating PvP sim "Pick Me Pick Me."
Pick Me Pick Me is a buy-to-play game. However, the game comes in a two-pack – as you’ll need a friend to play against. Both players can say anything they like to their love interest, whether it’s to make themselves look good or make their opponent look bad. The game processes the player-written dialog through AI in order to progress the game and determine the love interest’s behavior. As it’s an AI system, each interaction costs tokens. The company does provide players with tokens at the time of purchase. They state there are enough tokens to cover 30 to 40 hours of playtime. After that, players have to purchase tokens to continue.
The tokens aren’t the only limitation to the game, either. Again, due to the use of AI, the devs are limiting the number of available copies. According to the FAQ, this is because AI models limit the maximum number of requests within a certain time span. Having too many players on at once will cause delays to the NPC responses. This may change later on.
