Love Is In The Air... World Of Warcraft’s Valentine’s Day Event Returns With An Achievement Costing 70K
You can also practice self-love in Azeroth for a limited time.
Love is in the Air throughout Azeroth.
World of Warcraft’s Valentine’s Day event is back, featuring new rewards and quests until February 19th. There’s a Gala of Gifts organized by the Artisan's Consortium outside Orgrimmar and Stormwind. Completing quests, defeating Apothecary Hummel, or contributing to the Artisan's Consortium allows players to earn Love Tokens — which can be exchanged for goodies. Portals to the Gala of Gifts can be found in major cities.
A new questline called "The Trouble with Love" is available, where Inspector Snip Snagglebolt and Detective Snap Snagglebolt investigate lingering mysteries. Players will team up with Snagglebolt and his robotic canine companion O.D.I.E. The event also encourages “self-love,” providing daily quests for players to relax and pamper themselves. Rewards include mounts, pets, and cosmetic items.
The MMORPG's Wrath of the Lich King Classic version of the event is also live. Participants can join the fight against the Crown Chemical Co. scheming within Shadowfang Keep, with the chance to obtain various items like the Winking Eye of Love and the X45-Heartbreaker mount. A set of achievements is introduced as well, such as Love Language Expert and Support Your Local Artisans.
The latter achievement there will cost you 70,000 gold and you'll net 10 achievement points and a few bonus Love Tokens. Yeah, pure gold sink!
Note: Activision Blizzard has been sued by California’s Civil Rights Department, alleging violations of California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act and Equal Pay Act. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about the alleged violations within his company. These allegations have all been denied by Activision Blizzard and the company points to additional diversity and inclusion training as past examples of taking the accusations seriously at the time they were made. This case has been settled for $54 million.
