LotRO Update Brings Yule Festival, New Instance Tiers, And PvMP Revisions
Don't be fooled by the lackluster name of today's "Update 28.2" for The Lord of the Rings Online. It's chock full of meaty goodness, including my favorite LotRO festival, the Yule Festival, which kicks off today and includes some bonus presents this time around.
Special winter-themed decorations have been added to the daily Hobbit Presents this Yule season, with a rare chance to contain an item from 2019. If you get a duplicate or something you don't like, it can be "disenchanted into 2 Yule Festival Tokens each using the Flame of Ancalamír." Sorry Bilbo, I didn't like your gift, so I set it on fire to get something different.
If you're looking for something more dangerous (maybe) than refusing a hobbit's gifts, this update also brings Tier 5 versions of Shakalush, the Stair Battle and Amdân Dammul, The Bloody Threshold. Meanwhile, out on the Ettenmoors, PvMP play has seen some significant adjustments. Most notably, Creeps receive a multiplier to morale and damage, as well as other buffs, to keep pace with Freep development. Even the NPC guards, for both sides, have received buffs to their stats.
You can check out the complete patch notes for Update 28.2 on the LotRO site.
