LotRO Increases Character Slots For VIP And Premium Characters In Preparation For 64-bit Worlds

Today, Standing Stone Games dropped Update 42.4 in Lord of the Rings Online. The update consists of quite a few fixes and changes, tackling everything from a typo to incorrectly set item levels for some items. The update also kicks off the Ill Omens event with a new level cap of 150 Portents and introduces new loot boxes.

One notable change in this update is the adjustment to the MMORPG's Lothlorien Silver Branches and Gold Leaves needed to purchase Lothlorien items. As of this update, the items cost 20-50% less. This should address the fact that players don’t spend as much time in Lothlorien before it becomes irrelevant to them by allowing them to collect more rewards more quickly.

The update’s patch notes also includes a special note regarding the number of character slots available to VIP and premium accounts. As the dev team is preparing to introduce 64-bit worlds, they’ve decided to increase the number of slots available to these two groups. VIP accounts with active subs will have 12 free character slots and premium accounts will have 10. This is an increase from 7 and 5.
