LOTRO Composer Chance Thomas Releases Commemorative 10th Anniversary Soundtrack
If you can't get enough of the soundtrack to The Lord of the Rings Online, you're in luck. Composer Chance Thomas and his recording company HUGEsound Records is set to release a commemorative collection of the best of LOTRO's music, to celebrate its 10th anniversary, which occurred in April.
The Lord of the Rings Online 10th Anniversary Commemorative original video game soundtrack is a double album featuring 26 songs from Turbine's and Standing Stone Games' free-to-play MMORPG. Thomas, a lifelong Lord of the Rings fan who describes his earlier self as "a geeky kid in Oklahoma," studied the books for years, creating a style guide based on everything Tolkien wrote about music. The result is an original soundtrack that includes "painstakingly crafting instrumental palettes, vocal ranges, stylistic tendencies, and emotional conjuring based on direct references and inferences scattered throughout the text."
The album will be available through all major digital music outlets on June 23.
