Lost Ark's "Speculative Fix" Update Did More Harm Than Solve Players Getting Kicked From Servers
Since their announcement over the blunder, they've lessened the issue but it's still happening for many players.
Over a week after the messy Pheon distribution predicament, Smilegate and Amazon Games faces a growing list of disconnect reports from Lost Ark players. The developers sought to resolve the issue with a "speculative fix" that would lessen the frequency of disconnects. However, the update did more harm than good, spurring even more forum threads of players getting booted from servers.
Smilegate implemented the technical patch yesterday. Since then, the devs have added another update that should "lessen the impact and frequency of the ongoing disconnect issues and help improve player experience." Whether that additional update was successful or not is questionable, though. Looking at today's complaints/reports on the forums, Lost Ark is still dishing out disconnect errors left and right to players during different in-game activities.
A few mega threads will show players uploading screenshots of getting kicked off the game within the last hour or so. Those images reveal them disconnecting while waiting in areas like Shushire, at the end of a dungeon, during loading screens, switching characters, and much more.
The devs are watching the ongoing reports and "are working hard to alleviate the issues." Whether that can happen over the Thanksgiving holiday is debatable, but players can expect more updates in the coming days.
