Lost Ark Developer Announces South Korean Launch Date

We have excellent news for those who have been waiting patiently for the release of Smilegate's action MMORPG Lost Ark. (Well, those in South Korea anyway.) According to MMOCulture -- who often does the heavy lifting on things like translating announcements out of Korea -- Smilegate announced a November 7 launch date at a press event earlier today.
It should be noted that the launch is also the Open Beta. Apparently, Smilegate isn't bothering to make a distinction between the two. Honestly, it seems fair to me since Open Beta is pretty much official launch for most games these days anyway.
Other important details that came out of the press conference deal with how Smilegate plans on handling updates post-launch. They've revealed that updates will be divided into three different categories: Season, Episode, and Middle, with Season being the largest and filled with bug fixes and the like. Episodes will offer new story content and events, while the Middle Update will add raids, dungeons, and similar content.
Oh, and as a bit of a side note -- for the PvP fans among us -- apparently character growth can be achieved just by playing PvP modes. That's pretty cool.
