Lord Of The Rings Online Prepares For 10th Anniversary
Because nothing makes you feel old like another MMO being around for a decade... Standing Stone Games revealed plans for its free-to-play fantasy MMO Lord of the Rings Online's 10th anniversary event. The news came in a producer's letter outlining some of the developer's plans for 2017, including the fact that the release of Mordor is slated for this summer.
The 10th anniversary celebration will coincide with the release of Update 20 and will introduce a brand new event in addition to the usual anniversary activities. The letter doesn't specify what this activity will be, but it seems it will be very special.
As for Update 20, players can look forward to a lot of new content, including the addition of a new region called the Wastes as well as a chance to help companies prepare to fight the Dark Lord one more time. The letter discusses plans for updates 21 and 22 as well -- although not in extreme depth. If you're interested in finding out what the LotRO team has planned for the rest of the year, head over and read the full post on the game's site.
