Lord Of The Rings Online, And The Community, Honors Sir Ian Holm
On June 19, Sir Ian Holm, the actor who played Bilbo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings movies, passed away at the age of 88. As should be expected, the Lord of the Rings Online dev team, as well as the community, have decided to pay their respects. The LotRO team elected to do so by extending the Baggins' Birthday event until June 23 (tomorrow) and the Spring Festival until June 29.
As for the game's community, players have been honoring the actor by marching to the the home of the Hobbits, the Shire, and setting off fireworks. They've also been spending time around the Bilbo NPC in the Hall of Fire. You can watch one of the tributes in the video below.
