As A New Raid Nears, Lord Of The Rings Online Turns 16 And The Party Starts Tomorrow
The anniversary event kicks off tomorrow with the arrival of the next patch.
The Lord of the Rings Online is turning 16! In human years, that’s really young. In video game years… Well… Let’s say the MMORPG has been well-loved. Tomorrow, when Update 35.1 hits, it will bring with it the game’s anniversary event featuring new rewards as well as the Anniversary and Festivity Anniversary Barter. This includes new outfits, Forged Staves, and… new Goats, plus housing and other items.
The event kicks off at 10:00 AM Eastern time, Thursday, April 20. At this time, players can start logging in and receive their free gift, which is determined by what type of player they are. The Free People of Middle-earth will get Incandescent Lightning Fireworks, the Sixteen Year Portrait Frame, and the title of “Illiuminator”. Monster players get the Violet Explosion Fireworks, the Sixteen Year Portrait Frame, 5 +5% Attack Damage Potions, and the title “Extinguisher”.
In addition, players can look forward to a new raid, launching on April 26. Gwathrenost, the Witch-king’s Citadel is a raid for level 140 players. It’s located in a redone Carn Dum and will be available on Tiers 1 and 2. Full details on the raid schedule can be found on the Update 35.1 notes on the LotRO site.
