Live / Play : New League of Legends Documentary
It seems like documentaries, particularly about MOBAs or the competitive nature of eSports, are coming out every month now. You've probably watched many of them and maybe enjoyed some of them, too. Trying to offer something a bit different, Riot Games has released the "Live / Play" documentary above, and I actually enjoyed this one quite a bit.
Live / Play is a bit on the shorter side time wise, but makes up for it by only using League of Legends as a unifying theme. Yes, eSports players are featured, but so are cosplayers, casual fans, and even robot builders. Live / Play follows five members of this incredibly diverse community—a young fisherman in Iceland, an Egyptian student, a Brazilian cosplayer, an amateur robot inventor from Korea, and an aspiring eSports professional in the United States.
Directed by Nathan Caswell & Jeremiah Zagar, Live / Play gives not only a glimpse into the wide diversity of League of Legends players, but also a view of the many different ways players become fans of the game or its franchise.
Grab a drink, sit down for half and hour and enjoy a short film produced by Riot Games.
