Path Of Champions Love Is Ending As Legends Of Runeterra Shifts Focus Back To PvP
The devs have decided its for the best to not split their focus.
Legends of Runeterra players who might have enjoyed The Path of Champions mode are in for a bit of disappointment. Today, Riot announced that rather than splitting their focus between that mode and the game’s core PvP gameplay they’re returning their focus to the latter. As stated in the announcement, the devs have determined that The Path of Champions mode will “require significant investment to expand it to fully become what [they] envisioned”. Apparently, that’s more investment than they’re prepared to put in at this time.
That’s not to say they’re entirely done with the mode. In fact, they’ve simply stated they’re “slowing down [their] efforts. Another – interesting – result is that the company plans to redistribute developers who worked on this mode to other projects. Some of these will be existing projects, while others are ones that are still in the works. Perhaps that means Path of Champions will appear as part of something (or as its own game) at a later point.
The post also promises an update to the roadmap for players in the near future so everyone will want to keep an eye out for that.
