Learn More About The Augmentation Evoker Specialization Coming To World Of Warcraft In This New Interview And Trailer
A senior game designer from Blizzard talked about the development process and why the team made a support DPS class.
In case you missed it, there’s a new specialization available to all Dracthyr Evokers in World of Warcraft with the Fractures in Time update. The Augmentation Evoker focuses on empowering allies and amplifying their abilities, increasing the capabilities and damage output of their group. In addition to buffs, they can use Black magic — which focuses on power increases and forceful attacks, or Bronze magic — which involves bending time and shifting timelines.
To learn more about the new specialization, check out this interview Senior Game Designer Graham Berger did with Game Rant. He talked about the development process, the decision to create a support DPS playstyle, balancing concerns, and the reception of the specialization.
Berger also addressed how the Augmentation Evoker works in solo play and its impact on group dynamics. Additionally, he mentioned that the team is open to designing support DPS specializations for other classes based on player feedback and the MMORPG's future direction.
Note: Activision Blizzard has been sued by California’s Civil Rights Department, alleging violations of California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act and Equal Pay Act. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about the alleged violations within his company. These allegations have all been denied by Activision Blizzard and the company points to additional diversity and inclusion training as past examples of taking the accusations seriously at the time they were made.
