League Of Legends’ Star Guardian Makes A Magical Return

Many League of Legends fans should be excited to know that a huge Star Guardian event is coming to League of Legends, Wild Rift, and Legends of Runeterra on July 14. Players can look forward to a wide range of magical girl inspired character skins, cosmetics, and exciting new lore about Star Guardian’s whimsical alternate universe that will take place throughout the summer.

“The last time we revisited Star Guardian, we really saw that our players loved it and engaged with it, so we just really wanted to deliver on that,” said Narrative Producer Stephanie Bedford. Star Guardian, despite having more vague storylines, still became a huge subculture that absorbed many fans into a new universe where high school students were given cosmic powers to protect and defend their homes from a multitude of threats. While there is not much lore delivered yet, that could be fleshed out this year. Plus, Riot Games recently delivered a beautiful Star Guardian cinematic that has some speculating and hoping for a Star Guardian anime in the future.

Bedford went on to say, “Riot really views our alt universes as a really amazing medium for narrative expression and storytelling. So it’s not just cosmetics or a skin line to us, and we’re trying to create something that has depth, breadth, and player appeal.”
