League of Legends releases new blood-filled cinematic trailer "A New Dawn"
Riot Game's skill for creating in-house cinematics is surging to near Blizzard levels of fidelity with the release of the new cinematic trailer for League of Legends called A New Dawn. The trailer comes in at just under six and a half minutes long, most of which is filled to the brim with action, and features a full cast of heroes performing many of their iconic moves in glorious CGI.
In comparison to previous League cinematics, there's an awful lot of blood this time around. Makes sense as both Darius and Rengar -two of Leagues most tenacious heroes- are featured carving up their opponents. But it's the impressive appearance of Nautilus for me that really solidified just how big (and badass) the underwater explorer really is.
A companion "behind-the-scenes" video goes into the nitty-gritty of how Riot brought each character's persona to life through a combination of art, music and sound effects. "When you play the game you get a much smaller piece of this broader story we want to tell," said animator Rylan "RiotSilverfox" Davies. He goes on to say "we want players to come away with a stronger connection to the character's they play as..seeing them in cinematic form gives you a lot more attachment to the character."

Even as a casual Warframe player myself, I'd totally sit and watch a full series.
Compare her in this video with her in the original artwork. In the trailer she looks like a child, except that all those characters in the cinematic are meant to look like the original characters.
And while everything looks cartoonish, as is just the relatively new art style of League of Legends, Ahri is the only one in the entire video that looks like a Chibi character with exaggeratedly extreme proportions.
The most obscure thing is how at scenes like at 1:37 her face seems like a giant football while at every scene after that her proportions seem normal again.
Also loved that it heavily featured my favorite character (Ahri) and my second favorite (Leona).
That was epic!
